Hello! My name is Evan Jacoby. I'm a documentary storyteller who specializes in radio + film. When I'm not editing you can probably find me in the woods with my dog, or at home obsessing over some silly new esoteric craft.
I worked at LAist for 4+ years, where I helped launch a multi-award-winning show, How To LA. After producing/sound-designing/guest hosting 100+ episodes, I moved over to Weekend Edition where I produced daily & feature stories and line produced the live show.
I also have stories with NPR, PRX, the Kitchen Sisters, Vice, Discovery+, Dateline NBC, Spectrum News, among others.
Slap.fm is a covid project that began as a pirate radio station. It currently serves as my portfolio, but when I have the resources I plan to expand it into a collective that includes other journalists as well.
My resume, including award information and references, can be found here.
An archive of the original website can be found here.
